The Great Lakes Training Center offers training and education opportunities for all levels of people interested in firearms. Beginning with basic informational classes for those who may have never shot to CPL classes, home defense training, medical training, firearms law education, safety training and more!
Located right next door to Not Just Guns store, the new 5,000 square foot training facility aims to bring new shooters into the 2A community and enhance the skills and readiness of current shooters from youth to the most experienced.

Successful completion of this course earns you a certificate used to apply for a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL)
“Handgun Clinic” is every other Tuesday from 7pm-9pm. Every week will be a little different with topics changing as we will work on different skills and do different drills each night and often mix it up.
With the weather and price of ammo being what it is this is a great chance to knock the rust off or keep up on those training reps as any skill level is more than welcome
You must sign up before class so we can guarantee space.
Cost is $25.00 and covers airsoft gun rental and ammo etc.
**You only need to bring a good belt and clear safety glasses**
This is a hybrid medical course that combines advanced life saving trauma care with standard CPR and First Aid. It covers the contents and usage of your average Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) in depth and at the same time certifies you by the American Heart Associations (AHA) in CPR/First Aid/AED. EDM is a 1-day course held entirely in the classroom and includes lecture and hands on practice.
This class is for the First Time, Prospective and Current, pistol owner family to learn pistol handling fundamentals.
Covering vital pistol safety, handling, shooting, storage basics you will need and to take a next level class.
Extensive question & answer time, hands on & virtual shooting skills for your first trip to a range.
UTM/Home Defense course is an 8-hour course focusing on all details related to defending your home. Class will consist of classroom/lecture and hands-on in a “non-lethal” indoor shoot-house. Class will also involve “force on force” or person on person scenarios.
Hybrid Handgun B.A.S.E (formerly Handgun1) is the next step after taking a CPL course. It will introduce students to pistol shooting fundamentals, body mechanics, proper reloading techniques and malfunction clearing. This class is 8 hours and is not an NRA course of instruction.
Class is held indoor at a non-live fire facility utilizing airsoft pistols where you can stay warm and skip having to buy real ammo. You will only need to bring safety glasses and a sturdy belt. Everything else is provided including pistol, mags and airsoft ammo/gas.
Handgun B.A.S.E (formerly Handgun1) is the next step after taking a CPL course. It will introduce students to pistol shooting fundamentals, body mechanics, proper reloading techniques and malfunction clearing. This class is 9 hours and is not a NRA course of instruction.
This course will be held entirely on an outdoor range, rain or shine, so please bring weather appropriate gear.
The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations
